Ti— me

 Time is on the other side 

It flipped when l looked away 

Squandered every moment 

I thought it was here to stay

Stealthily it gave its self 

Then ran off to the past 

I should have cupped my hands

To make each minute last 

Where have all the hours gone 

Those sunny days of youth 

Where time it ticked so slowly 

I noticed not the truth

Minutes hours days and years 

Have run off in a flash

Ignoring all the warnings 

Too much in a dash 

But time is spent and time is saved 

But never can be banked 

Time is here and time is now 

The future is a blank 

It’s kidnapped me with blindfolds

And bundled me away 

It’s only now that I can see

The searing light of day 

So although time is infinite 

my time on earth is not 

Let’s hope the hour glass of time 

Doesn’t have a clot 

But runs nice and smoothly

And wipe away the frown 

So I can sit and drink a beer

And watch the sun down.
