hURt and SOle

 My heart lies on the roadside 

Cast aside by youth 

in the search for truth

Left to rot, openly beating

Crying for the body , waiting for the scoop of angels 

To place it in the breast of a lover

Gone it is now , in dust and smoke

Barely a stain left where it fell

No resurrection, no connection 

No hot blood running through 

But eaten by the crows.

Will it be found where it fell

Will life be breathed from the grains of hope staring to the heavens

Each passing day and night

Diminishing the chance of chance.

But chances hand may cast a shadow

That awakes the deep inside,

The hibernation. 

Scraping the remains to form new life 

Placing it in the open wound from whence it came 

To fulfil its role , and beat again in the body lost 

joining once more  with its soul .

 Ok Mr Mouse. I’ve had my fun

I’m now just old cat. , sitting in sun

Time was ,I’d creep jump and tease

Toss you here, good you there 

Play as I pleased.

But these days I just can’t be bothered

I flick my tail, leave it to others,

Curl my paws and lick my claws

Shoot a glance at the dog filled door.

They always follow me around.

They can’t quite figure me , stupid hounds,

they chase me in and out the house 

As if I was , the frightened mouse.

Just one quick biff is all it takes,

They scarper off with all their mates,

I sit there by the window pane

Showering looks  of deep disdain.

Look at them they wolf down dinner

As if there has to be a winner.

I look at mine and walk away

There must be something nice today?

Busy day now , groom my hair

I’ll take a nap behind the chair

Just a sec , what’s that smell

Of course , I crapped here earlier

Oh hell!

CITI fell

 Hold my hand 

Hold it tight

Hold me  close

With our feet in sand

Sea salt perfume

Mirror sea, dancing lights

Rhythmic waves ,

Cooling the mind

Warm breeze, in your hair

Gently flicking across your eyes

I stare at you mesmerised.

Steps on the beach 

Left behind as we advance 

Each one a memory gone

Randomly together

As we dance 

Eyes to the stars 

Retreat to the dunes

Grass waves it’s welcome,

In your arms , embrace the moment

Ghostly moon looks down,

Bathes the hollow in monochrome

Distant citadel, broods in silhouette 

Protecting those within and without

Comforting outline, standing guard 

Centuries of looking down on others

Will crumble before this love , for lovers.
